User Review - Flag as inappropriate Dru Gladney is acknowledged as an expert on the Muslim ethnic peoples of China, particularly the Uyghurs and the Hui. This book is aimed at a scholarly audience but a must read for anyone seeking a greater understanding of how Muslim ethnicity sits in China, how it affects China and how Chinese policies affect it. Being first published in 2004, and not revised as of yet, it tends to be somewhat dated, however the theories it explores hold nonetheless true today.
