The author shows the role statistics play in research, helping motivate students as they see its applications in the clinical areas of psychological research via examples. The book emphasizes connections between seeemingly disparate statistical procedures.

The book is honestly a great introduction to statistics, especially for psychology! Unfortunately, it is FULL of mathematical errors, especially in formulas, solutions to selected problems, and examples within the chapters. For a third edition, this seems pretty unacceptable. Read full review

About the author (1996)

Barry H. Cohen has been a small business owner for thirteen years and has over thirty years of experience as advertising counsel. He is currently a principal of AdLab Media Communications, LLC. He completed a BA in English cum laude from Kean University in NJ, and is a graduate of the U.S. SBA Small Business Management Training Course. His publication credits include the book 10 Ways to Screw Up an Ad Campaign, as well as articles in Radio & Records, Performance Magazine and Floorcovering Weekly.

Michael Rybarski is a serial entrepreneur and turnaround specialist who has started new businesses from scratch and within NYSE firms. He is the chairman and founder of LifeChange Marketing (a business start-up consulting and investment firm). He has created the following firms from zero: Houghton Mifflin Language Software (the spelling software virtually every-one uses), VideoTours, Tribute Direct, AgeWave Target Marketing, and most recently, Team LifeLineTM. Rybarski has been quoted or inter-viewed by CNNfn, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Silicon Valley TV, BrandWeek, MacWeek, and Target Marketing. He has written articles for American Demographics, the Boomer Report, and the Healthcare Strategist. He has an MBA in general management from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
