About the author (2002)

Timperlake, a Naval Academy graduate with an MBA from Cornell, has served as a Marine Corps fighter pilot, a professional staffer in Congress, and in the Defense Department. He now serves on the board of the Vietnam Children's Fund.

WILLIAM C. TRIPLETT II is the coauthor of the bestselling "Year of the Rat, Red Dragon Rising", and "Rogue State". He is the former chief Republican counsel to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and his articles on China have appeared in the "New York Times, Washington Post", and "Washington Times". He resides near Annapolis, Maryland.
