About the author (1999)

Bonnie Burnard's new novel, A Good House has just been awarded the prestigious 1999 Giller Prize. Her collection of short stories, Casino, was also nominated for the Giller, in 1994. Bonnie's first short story collection, Women of Influence published by Coteau Books in 1989, won the Commonwealth Best First Book Award, the first time a Canadian ever received that award.
