About the author (2005)


John Everett-Heathis a former military diplomat (Belgrade) and was a civil servant for thirteen years, during which he was concerned with Russia, Central Asia, and the Caucasus. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. His most recent publication isPlace Names of the World: Europe.
