I immensely enjoyed this Book, and strongly recommend it for anyone who's interested in ancient asian history, Buddhist culture, and travel. While it's admittedly quite a long & slow read in parts, it's worth the effort it takes to read. I remember not being able to read it dedicatedly, hence reading it in multiple instalments over a period of a couple of months (!). The book may not be compellingly unputdownable in the first ten pages, but it definitely makes you keep it aside, and keep going back to it - provided you have a degree of interest in the abovementioned topics.
