About the author (1994)

ROBERT MITCHELL is an award-winning English teacher and college adviser at Chelsea High School in Manhattan. He has advised students' groups and parents' associations about college admissions. He has been featured on NPR's "Talk of the Nation" and ABC News. Mr. Mitchell is also the author of The Multicultural Student's Guide to Colleges. Afarin Majidi, Susanna Daniel, Tamara Straus, and Ann Ginsburg are all current or recent college students.
