This is a survey sort of book, largely drawing from familiar source - the Paston letters, Margery Kemp's book. Like most medieval history surveys, I bought it for the pictures. But I found it a quick read and it had a few juicy tidbits in there from less well-known sources. Read full review

About the author (1998)

Barbara Watterson received her doctorate from the University of Liverpool. She is currently a freelance lecturer in Egyptology, working, in particular, in Adult Education. Her previous books" Women in Ancient Egypt "(1991), "Introductory Egyptian Hieroglyphics" (secind edition, 1993) and "Gods of Ancient Egypt "(1996).
