Lombroso was paradoxically just as awful as I hoped he would be and surprisingly less awful that I feared he'd be. This edition does a wonderful job of showing the progression of his beliefs that Gina Lombroso's widely read summary doesn't provide. Read full review

Lomroso's ideas are the evolution of Imam Chafii's physiognomy theory... Cesare's ideas are useful to understand lots of stuff. Nevertheless, "women're inferior to men and blacks to whites" is nothing but a "legal and scientifically proved" invitation to sexism, hatred and racism... Read full review
