Looks like a romance novel; reads like a romance novel. The author sets the Bible story of Jacob and Esau in 1788 Scotland. An interesting premise. I enjoyed the details of life in that period -- foods, language, customs. Obviously the author did some solid research. But so much angst. Read full review

A Scottish historical story that started slow and then ripped tears from my eyes. I didn't like the character of Graham Webster, he seemed secretive and too old for Davina, and I think he should have been better developed to make a more suitable suitor for Davina. Read full review
