About the author (1992)

Mel Gilden is the author of more than thirty middle-grade and young adult books, including "My Brother Blubb, Blubb and the Chocolate Treasure," and two "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" novels: "The Pet" and "The Cardassian Imps." He has written five novels for adults, including two "Star Trek" books. In addition, Gilden is a radio personality, and has written and developed cartoons for television. He lives in Los Angeles, California, and still hopes to be an astronaut when he grows up.
