About the author (1997)

James P. Carse is Professor of Religion at New York University. A winner of the University's Great Teacher Award, he is author of "Death and Existence: A Conceptual History of Human Mortality" and "The Silence of God: Meditations on Prayer" (published by Macmillan). Carse lives in New York City.
