An EXCELLENT book series, ALL of these books are wonderful to own and read.
This one does a good job explaining the historical roots of various philosophical ideas and explores each one lightly with examples.. nothing brain-destroying or anything here but a good introduction.
I dont like much philosophy, I find alot of it to be pedantic and pretty much obvious and useless. But in a historical perspective it really shows the development of human thought, the basics of critical analysis and independent thinking, and even taught me a few things.
Not all of life is in the details :)

Probably the best introductory text on key philosophical concepts and ideas I have come across. Definitely recommend for both budding and seasoned readers of philosophy. Read full review
