This is an interesting book, but (in most ways) hardly a practical one. The cover of my paper-back edition says it all, with its illustration including a pipe with its foot apparently in the glue pot!
The section on making paper pipes is certainly of interest, and I have used such pipes as dummies, where they function very well. (Not sure of the sound they might make, however.)
A good read for the organophile who wants a flavour of second-rate organ building of the nineteenth century, it does contain some words of wisdom and, in all fairness, little organs of the type described here have survived into the present day, and can be rebuilt into very respectable, genuinely musical and useful instruments, as I know to my cost!
