This report is an attempt to systematize the description of tasks and performance in a manner applicable to both the analysis of the environmental literature and to the operational situation. The nature of this approach was to develop a general classification scheme for the description of tasks and to develop postulates from the basic literature of psychology so as to formulate a quantitative model of wide scope representing fundamental behavior processes assumed to under lie performance at the tasks.
