Two monkeys, Cheeky and Chee, see something in a brushpile on the savannah and run for a tree. They climb into the tree, see a jaguar, and head for safety. The story is told in verse and the illustrations are light and fun. This would be right for young readers.

Thank you Mem Fox for making a non-anthropomorphic book with animals in their natural setting! Those are so hard to find (and I'm looking for some for a natural museum worker for their storytime). It's a fun read and will help kids learn. Shhhh. Don't tell them.
