This too is one of the 12 volume books done by the Goodspeed Publishing Company on the state of Missouri. This book is divided into two main sections: the first section is devoted to the history of the counties while the second section covers the biographical sketches of the various families. The counties that this book cover are: Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Dunklin, Iorn, Madison, Mississippi, New Madrid, Perry, Scott, St. Genevieve, St. Francois, Stoddard and Wayne. This volume has over 1,878 Biographical Sketches, included in which are some 11,000 additional family members. Also found in this book are the names of some 27,000 other persons prominent in the early history of these counties. The New Index that was prepared for this reprint edition has over 13,500 entries in it.
