About the author (2004)

Charles Reichblum, president of the Century Features, Inc. news service, is known as "Dr. Knowledge." He has been gathering interesting facts for more than 50 years & has a collection of material that serves as the source for his Knowledge in Nutshell books & Century Features. A graduate of Syracuse University where he was one of the five founders of WAER, the first college radio station in the country, Reichblum founded Century Features in 1959. The company syndicates weekly newspaper & radio-TV features to advertisers around the world. Between his college graduation & starting Century Features, Reichblum was the play-by-play announcer for a Dodger farm team in upstate New York & a news & sports director for a Pittsburgh radio station. In 1974, Reichblum was a creator & founder of the World Team Tennis League. Knowledge in a Nutshell, is a compendium of his many interesting facts; Knowledge in a Nutshell on Sports, is a compendium of his many sports facts; & his newest book, Knowledge in a Nutshell on a Popular Products Heinz Edition is a collection of facts from his own collection & on research at the H.J. Heinz Company with input from John Dryer, a former General Manager of Research & Product Quality Assurance at Heinz. Always curious about the popular products we use every day, Reichblum - Pittsburgh raised - wanted to start his Popular Products series with the Heinz edition."I grew up with the Pickle Pin," he said, "but until I started digging for the fun facts, I never knew what honeybees & pickles had in common.
