I thought the beginning of this book was good, Victoria struggling to become Queen. I thought the rest of the book was very boring and I found myself skipping pages and even whole chapters just to get it over with, cause I knew I had better books to read. Read full review

About the author (1987)

Stanley Weintraub is a historian, a biographer, and a professor emeritus of the arts and humanities at Penn State University. He is the author of "Silent Night: The Story of the 1914 Christmas Truce" and "General Washington's Christmas Farewell". He lives with his wife in Newark, Delaware.
