ALAN B. KNOX is chairman of the Department of Continuing and Vocational Education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has consulted in countries around the world on international comparative adult education. Knox is the author of numerous works on adult and continuing education, including Helping Adults Learn (Jossey-Bass, 1986).
