The author of the New York Times bestsellers Circles, First Born and Rightfully Mine sets her latest novel against two backgrounds: the history of Hungary from World War II to the present, and the glittering world of the concert stage which its heroine strives to conquer.

This is my favorite Historical Romance Fiction Novel of all time. Mortman writes with a clarity seen in few other authors. Her prose is poetry and her poetry prose. This is a must add to any collection because it makes you believe in love, tests your faith, and moves you into the truth you are - vicariously.

A truly moving story.. Found it really engaging and it speaks of love, war, passion, music, family and hope. Read it long time ago and I guess it's for anyone who enjoys a love story with the backdrop of a war. Read full review
