My favorite book in HS
I read this book back in high school. I loved it then. I am looking forward to reading it again. Hopefully I feel the same way I did back then.

When Ginny receives a letter from her eccentric Aunt Peg who passed away months ago, Ginny begins an adventure of a lifetime. When Ginny was little and she visited her aunt they would play ďtoday I live inĒ and now her aunt wants her to literally do this. The first letter instructs her to go to London with the money she has provided in the envelope along with these strict instructions:
ďRule #1: You may bring only what fits in your backpack. Donít try to fake it out with a purse or carry-on.
Rule #2: You may not bring guidebooks, phrase books, or any kind of foreign language aid. And no journals.
Rule #3: You cannot bring extra money or credit/debit cards, travelerís checks, etc. Iíll take care of that.
Rule #4: No electronic crutches. This means no laptop, no cell phone, no music, and no camera. You canít call home or communicate with people in the U.S. by Internet or telephone. Postcards and letters are acceptable and encouraged.Ē
Before she heads to London though she is instructed to go to the 4th Noodle, a restaurant in New York City that is located below where her aunt used to live. When she arrives the owner has a package for her with the remaining envelopes that she may only open one at a time and she may not open the next envelope until she has completed the task in each envelope.
I really enjoyed this book, it brought back so many memories of my backpacking adventure through Europe when I was in college. I really admired Ginny, having the courage at age 17 to step out of her comfort zone and travel by herself all the while following her auntís rules and not cheating. I mean can you imagine a teenager without their cell phone! Ginnyís tasks werenít easy, she faced difficult decisions and choices and while she may have stumbled along the way (who doesnít), I think she is a very responsible and positive role model and someone I wish I had been more like when I was in high school. All throughout Ginnyís life she felt the only time she was interesting was when she was with her aunt but as she follows her auntís wild and crazy tasks she learns that she doesnít need her aunt to make her life interesting, she can do it all on her own. I wish there had been someone in my life that had taught me that important lesson. I think the book is a really fun and creative concept and Iím looking forward to reading the sequel The Last Little Blue Envelope.

A quick book to read that was incredibly interesting. It was hard to predict what was going to happen next, but not in a confusing way. All of the characters were unique and amazing in their own little ways. Probably one of the best books I have read. I'm glad there was a sequel, becuase I was not very proud of the ending. Other than that, marvelous!

I loved this book. I read this one in about four hours. This was such a beach read, and I could read it over and over! Maureen Johnson is an amazing writer, and creates a great atmosphere in her books. One of the best books I have ever read.

This book was very good. I started this book on a Saturday around 5pm and finished it the next day at about 7pm. I have to say that I did do other things today, if I had read nonstop all day it would have been different. I might put this book as a coming of age story mixed with a romance. The style of writing and the story kept me immersed for hours. I thought this book was very well written and if you like any kind of fiction, even vampires like me, you will probably love this book.
