About the author (1998)

PATRICIA SENN BREIVIK is dean of university libraries at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. From 1990 to 1995, she was the associate vice president for information resources at Towson State University in Towson, Maryland. Her previous positions include director of the Auraria Library and professor at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado; special assistant to the president of the University of Colorado; visiting professor at Columbia University; and American Council on Education (ACE) fellow in academic administration at the University of Wisconsin. Breivik has taught numerous courses and seminars in graduate library programs on academic and research libraries, library administration, fund raising, library instruction, school library media centers, and introduction to librarianship.
