Mixing with the lost generation in pre-war Paris she escaped to the US with Max Ernst with dozens of paintings, before founding her gallery in Venice. Early discoverer of Pollock and Rothko she knew everybody including Beckett, Joyce, Pound etc and reputedly "entertained" most of them! Read full review
