About the author (2006)

Author Chris Baty is a writing cheerleader who founded National Novel Writing Month in 1999. Since then, the November writing escapade has grown to include 60,000 participants from all over the world.

Karla Zimmerman is a travel writer for newspapers, books, magazines, and websites, and has contributed to National Geographic Traveler, The Chicago Tribune, and Time Out Chicago, among many others.
