Tobin: Portraits of a FamilyJames Tobin was born in 1758 in County Tipperary, Ireland. He married Catherine LaShore in 1780 (d. 1781) in New York and they had one daughter. He married Ann Kirkes Spangenburg (1766-1824), daughter of Thomas Kirkes and Ann Abel and widow of Frederick Henry Spangenburg, in 1787 in Digby, in Nova Scotia. They had nine children. He died in 1826. |
