About the author (2006)

Lafcadio Hearn (1850--1904) became the great interpreter of things Japanese to the West. His keen intellect, poetic imagination and clear style have ensured him a devoted readership for more than a century. His most famous work is a collection of lectures entitled "Japan: An Attempt at Interpretation.
