The Ф on the obverse is the artist's signature. Nos. II. С. 7, of Thurium, and III. C. 22, of Pandosia, appear to be by the same engraver, who was doubtless well known in Southern Italy. All the finest coins of Terina of this period are by him.

Some of them are very fine works of art, others surprisingly barbarous. The coins of Gortyna refer to the abduction of Europa by Zeus, in the form of a bull.
