This is a complete biography of the life of Bill Cosby who happens to be an actor and comedian. The book begins telling about Mr. Cosby's life growing up in a place called "the jungle" in Philadelphia. Although he was a mediocre to poor student he had an above average IQ and always showed a talent for entertaining. The author goes on to tell about his struggles in school, life in the military, and his rise to fame as a comedian. As kids, my brothers and I grew up watching The Cosby Show. As an adult, my children and I love to watch the reruns of The Cosby Show. I admire him for going back and getting his GED and finally earning a Ph.D. in education. He has had many setbacks but he never let them become an excuse to stop him from realizing his dreams. As a classroom extension, I would have the students write a timeline of Bill Cosby's life and accomplishments. Another idea would be to have the students split into groups and assign each group to write a summary on their assigned chapter.
