About the author (1998)

Katrin Behrend is the author of several books on pet care. Originally written in German, her books have been translated into English, French, and Spanish. An owner of both house cats and pure bred cats, she has written several books for cat owners, including Indoor Cats Understanding and Caring for Your Indoor Cat, The Complete Book of Cat Care, and Cats: How to Take Care of Them and Understand Them. The English translations of her books about cats have been published as part of the Barron's Educational Series. In addition, she has also written pet care manuals for guinea pigs for Barron's, including Guinea Pigs: Everything about Purchase, Care, Nutrition, Grooming, Behavior and Training; and Guinea Pigs: Proper Care and Understanding. Behrend, who lives and works in Germany and Italy, is also a journalist and an editor.
