Teacher Leadership: The "New" Foundations of Teacher Education, A Reader is aimed at undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in classes for initial and advanced teacher licensure. Teacher leadership is a key thread in most current state standards for teacher licensure and is emerging as a key component of revisioned teacher licensure programs. Although there are numerous books on the topic, there is no reader or anthology that reflects a sampling of the literature on teacher leadership over the past decade. This book talks about teacher leadership within the context of teacher's work and the progress and development of the teaching profession. It is organized by major topic, with each section concluding with questions to guide reflection and further consideration of key ideas. Additional references and web site links are also included.
