This memoir narrates the story of one young woman and how she survived numerous traumatic life events and overcame various mental illnesses.

Sometimes life isn t what you expect it to be. Sometimes it s more than you bargained for or more than you re willing to accept but maybe those are the parts of life that teach what living is really about. In Choosing to Thrive, author Sophia Ramie opens her soul and shares her in-credible life story including events and challenges that were more than she bargained for.

Emotional, insightful, and personal, Ramie reveals the host of obstacles she has faced during her young life and recounts how she has dealt with sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, cutting, obesity, and anorexia nervosa.

Choosing to Thrive portrays Ramie s strength of character as a survivor who has not let her challenges define who she is. Indeed, her story shows how she has jumped hurdles, faced her fears, and overcome them to live life to the fullest and help others who have faced similar circum-stances to heal.
