Loyalty to God offers a theological interpretation of and reflection on the Apostles' Creed by asserting that it is an oath of loyalty to the God who adopts, liberates, and empowers us. Those who repeat the Creed are not so much summarizing their theological opinions as vowing to renounce their allegiance to all other principalities and powers in favor of the One who created -- and who has come to transform -- heaven and earth.
