I found this book during a brief search for information on St. Gobnata, whom I adore more and more. I love the romanticized late 19th century interpretation of the Middle Ages, especially the space just between the rise of Christianity and the end Paganism. My sense is that the writers of this book were at least at times trying to capture the feel of older texts (St. Bede comes to mind). I'm by no means an expert in this time period or in this kind of writing, but I am thrilled to have stumbled upon this text!
