This is the book that gave birth to the now-forgotten single-axiom formulation of thermodynamics. Highly interesting for those investigating the history of modern thermodynamics, but a rather hard read. For a more "digestible" version of the single-axiom theory the book "Equilibrium thermodynamics" by R. W. Haywood is recommended.
