About the author (2000)

Award-winning author Claire Walter has written books about skiing, snowshoeing and Colorado's vibrant culinary scene for Fulcrum. Honors include two Lowell Thomas Awards from Colorado Ski Country USA, CSCUSA's Freelance Writer of the Year Award, three Society of American Travel Writers awards, and others.

Bank is a two-time Swedish Olympian (1976 and 1984), competing in the high jump and the heptathlon. She is one of the few athletes to ever have defeated Jackie Joyner-Kersee in an NCAA meet. She was graduated from the University of Colorado and the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. She is currently a certified personal trainer and certified massage therapist.
