This book is an overview of the subject, very well written and with a wealth of interesting quotations. Somehow I wish Walsh had gone into more detail and gotten more particular. I had a feeling I was never quite getting at the subject. But it's a good introduction. Read full review

Kind of like a text book of Shamanistic belief. What it lacks for me is anthropological studies of shamanistic cultures. I was also hoping for a little more on the psychotropic side of shamanism. I'll keep reading on this topic until I find what I am looking for. Read full review
