This is an amazing compendium of interviews with many of the filmmakers who pioneered some of the distinctive American documentary traditions. It's full of terrific insights and methodological considerations. I've owned several copies over the years. This is an absolute must-read for anyone who makes docs or studies documentary filmmaking.
