I found a copy at Madrid’s feria del libro in the late sixties. The book is not easy to read. It is influenced from the sexual emancipation between the World Wars. However, Lawrence Durrell and especially Henry Miller’s writings follow the spirit of the times much more explicit. Read full review

Oddly enough this was the only best seller during Anderson's career. Odd because its been for mostly out of print for the past 40 years. Its actually a fairly weak effort on his part, and has some serious racial overtones. Read Winesburgh, OH and forget this one. Read full review
