Loaded with steamy stills and many never-before-published studio shots, here is a sweeping, impressionistic look at the erotic element in motion pictures from the birth of film to today's latest innovations. Focused on modern movies and the way Hollywood is currently redefining eroticism for a new millennium, this provocative study traces current trends back to their roots, and examines the ways in which sex has been uniquely treated by the medium of motion pictures.

The entire erotic spectrum is covered -- from the insertion of hidden sensuous imagery in G-movies to explicit hardcore pornography. Included are sections on striptease, bondage, and the eroticization of motorcycles, Nazis, and nudity. Lavishly illustrated with color and b/w stills from 100 years of erotic cinema, and a special section on nudity featuring legendary Hollywood stars in revealing poses.
