About the author

Matthew trained as an anthropologist and epidemiologist, though he abandoned a promising academic career in favor of spending his youth living out of a backpack. With his best explorer's hat and hiking boots on hand, Matthew blazed a trail across the Middle East in the footsteps of Indiana Jones. Although a brief excursion to Petra failed to reveal the final location of the Holy Grail, Matthew's travels brought him from the depths of the Red Sea to the heights of Mt Sinai. He may not have found eternal life but at least he found a bit of adventure - and a whole lot of sand.
