About the author (2002)

Born and raised in Fife, Alan Murphy moved the short distance across the Tay Bridge to Dundee where he studied Politics and History before embarking on a career in journalism and travel guide writing.

Ford is a graduate of St. Andrews University. She worked in public relations and advertising for several years, before becoming a full-time travel writer and photographer.
