First published in 1993, this is a general introduction to the history and archaeology of the Celts from the 7th century BC, through the Celtic renaissance of the post-Roman period to the Celts of today. Full of facts and discussion and furnished with lots of illustrations it is a good place to start learning about the Celts, although much has been published on the subject, including a number of works by Simon James himself, in the 12 years since its first release. The text is unrevised.
