This is very much a nuts and bolts, just the facts ma'm biography of perhaps the most important cavalry leader of the American Revolution. A relative of George Washington's, William was every inch a cavalry leader in the vein of Murat and LaSalle, only on a much smaller stage with far fewer troops.
