This novel is an entry into the 'slacker' genre of modern fiction. It is primarily comedic as it follows the story of two stoners and their drug dealer as they search for meaning in their lives. The characters face obstacles that offer room for personal growth as they discover and pursue their destinies. Throughout the story the protagonist discovers that life can become a hollow ordeal if not for the presence of friends and romance. They will, by the story's completion, lead him toward a new, rewarding purpose that suits his lifestyle.
