About the author (1990)

Herbert Warren Wind, who worked tirelessly with Ben Hogan on this book, has been called "the best golf writer in captivity" Wind not only has written a lot about golf, but has played a lot of it, in a lot of places -- on every continent, in fact, except Africa and Antarctica. And he has observed and studied all the great champions in action, from the age of Hagen to that of Hogan.

His works include "Thirty Years of Championship Golf" (with Gene Sarazen), "The Story of American Golf, " and an anthology, "The Complete Golfer.
