Mothers, Sons, and Lovers: How a Man's Relationship with His Mother Affects the Rest of His Life
Gurian shows how the challenges a man typically encounters in relationships--such as codependency, insecurity, and the need for control--most often have their origin in the way he learned to relate to his mother. This guided journey helps facilitate healing in the primal bond and other love relationships.

When I read the reviews on this book, I noticed that they were written by women who did not understand the essence of the work in this book. This is intended for men, to touch a part that is far too deep for women to access. For a woman to provide inside on the content of the book would be the same for me to review a book about experiencing menstruation. I apologize for the crudity of that statement, but it indicates how deep this book is.
From my own experiences, I will say that I have never, ever had a book that revolutionised my sense of self and my relationships. It deals with deep, hidden structures that affect all of your relationships with women. The growth of depth, love and maturity I experiences after putting the material in the book to work. The difference was like night and day.
I urge you to read this book, his other works, and the works of Robert L Moore which it derives from.

Certainly enjoyable and informative. The first portion was useful to understand why our culture is...the way it is(ie perpetual children). The second half was generally self reflective and meditative. Read full review
