About the author (2005)

In addition to his action adventure books, Roland Smith is the author of many award-winning books for young readers including Journey of the Red Wolf; The Captain's Dog: My Journey with the Lewis and Clark Tribe; and Thunder Cave (1996 Notable Social Studies Trade Book for Young People). His Sleeping Bear Press books include W is for Waves: An Ocean Alphabet; Z is for Zookeeper: A Zoo Alphabet; and N is for Our Nation's Capital: A Washington, DC Alphabet. Roland lives near Portland, Oregon.

Henry Cole is an extremely versatile artist who has illustrated numerous picture books, including "And Tango Makes" "Three" by Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson, and "Oink!" by Margie Palatini.
