The best book I've ever read. The imagery was brilliant and sucked you in. I felt every ounce of Erik's pain and she captured his character perfectly. She obviously did much research before writing the book because the details are so vivid and accurate. I've read this book again and again and cried every time. I get lost in this novel. Hours pass by when I'm reading it and I don't even notice. It is also one of the most quotable books I've ever seen. I won a prose competition with an excerpt from it. Susan Kay knows The Phantom of the Opera. It was everything I crave in a Phantom of the Opera story. I'm having to buy a new copy because I've read it so many times and carried it around with me so much to the point where the pages are about to fall out. My copy is 21 years old, as old as I am. My mother bought it and then passed it down to me, and I genuinely thank her for that.
