As if fighting terrorism isn't enough for Western law-enforcement and security agencies, now they face new and disturbing trends among criminal gangs. First, criminal gangs are expanding their activities to reach around the world. Second, they are engaging in cooperative ventures, such as trading drugs for arms. Third, they have become more ruthless. Cunning, and dangerous, even so far as to number terrorist among their clients.

In their ground-breaking book, Antonio Nicaso, and internationally renowned expert on organized crime groups, and Lee Lamothe, a veteran investigative journalist specializing in criminal conspiracies and human smuggling, present solid evidence of how established organized crime groups--such as the Mafia and Triads--have changed tactics to face the challenges of a changing underworld--a world that is seeing the rise of violent and power-hungry gangs from Albania, Mexico and Russia.

ANGELS, MOBSTERS AND NARCO-TERRORISTS. Offers a brutally realistic look at how the United States and Canada, due to their shared border, have become prime targets for criminal empires that routinely engage in money laundering and traffic in human cargo, narcotics, arms, and prostitution. On the international scene, the book reveals how state-sanctioned crime thieves on heroin profits and cyber crime is emerging as a very lucrative and baffling activity to investigate and shut down.

From Outlaw motorcycle gangs to narco-terrorists, this book takes the reader inside the world of organized crime--the criminals and their crimes, the victims, and the investigators. It is an unflinching look at how far organized crime has penetrated our lives.
